In the workshop we have t wo 10 ton cranes capable of a 20 ton tandem lift. Height under hook is 10m.
The workshop has a 10m x 10m door at one end. The yard is covered by a 4 ton tower crane with full remote control.
At PBA Engineering we pride ourselves in our ability to satisfy all quality standards as required by our clients.
We have successfully completed projects under most of the marine codes and with 100% x-ray under ASME or AWS.
100 Amp Hypertherm plasma unit capable of cutting up to 30mm plate. Normally we will only cut plasma up to 12mm due to finish quality. Mild steel or stainless steel, no aluminium.
Capable of cutting up to 200mm plate. Mild steel only.
- Table size:
11m x 2.4m travel. Longer plates can be cut by doing multiple toolpaths.
We can import parts into Autocad, Keycreator or Sigmanest or draw them ourselves if required (including developments). Quoting, nesting and part tracking is done with Sigmanest (full package).
We have a 300 ton press brake capable of bending 12mm thick plate 3.2m wide on a 120mm bottom vee.
Width between uprights is 2.6m.
We also have additional tooling for thicker plates as per the table.
Maximum achievable width:
For thicker plates we use a 15mm radius top tool to minimise stress in the material.
- Angle iron: 160 x 160 x 16mm
- Flat bar: 330 x 20
- Hole punching: dia 30 x 20mm plate
Plate up to 8mm thick 2.4m wide.
General turning of small items. Maximum 1m between centres up to 300mm swing.
General milling of small items. Travel 1m x 600mm.
General line boring of small items. Table 1m x 1m.
Processes used: Mig, gas assisted fluxcore and tig with various machines including high frequency, pulse and pulse on pulse. Our welders are qualified to procedures for carbon steel, aluminium, stainless steel and duplex SAF2205.
We can cut, drill and countersink liner plates up to 500 Brinell for M16 and M20 CSK bolts without cutting a pilot hole or heating the plate.
We can manufacture HDPE piping up to diameter 300mm from iso drawings.
